Sadovskaya: after ECtHR decision Ibragim Musaev is under no threat of expulsion from Russia
After the provisional ruling of the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) on the impossibility of Ibragim Musaev's extradition to Azerbaijan, there is no danger from Russian authorities; however, Musaev should take care and avoid becoming a victim of extrajudicial execution, said the lawyer Olga Sadovskaya, who is representing Musaev's interests at the ECtHR.
Let us remind you that the decision to extradite Ibragim Musaev, an employee of the Ministry of National Security (MNS) of the Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic (NAR), to Azerbaijan was announced on September 2 at the Yaroslavl Regional Court. On September 11, it became known that the ECtHR had notified the Russian authorities about impossibility of Musaev's extradition until a special further notification.
"There were two precedents, when applicants got into the country that demanded their extradition," Olga Sadovskaya told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent. "At the time when a letter from the ECtHR was received, they were in SIZO. Later, at some moment, they were released. And then some unidentified men kidnapped them and took away."
"I have warned Ibragim Musaev and asked him to be extremely cautious in his walks and movements in those dwelling settlements where he happens to be," said Olga Sadovskaya.
