Aliev, Gasanli and Agazade to gain first three places in presidential election in Azerbaijan, experts believe
At the election of the President of Azerbaijan, Djamil Gasanli will gain the second place, Iqbal Agazade has a chance to take the third place, and Ilham Aliev will win the election. This was predicted by experts questioned by the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
According to the version of Shakhin Abbasov, an independent analyst, no actual competition with unpredictable outcome will take place at the presidential election.
"The outcome of the election can be considered predetermined and Ilham Aliev will retain his presidency for a third term," Shakhin Abbasov told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
Tofiq Tyurkel, an observer of the agency "Turan", believes that the authorities will once again try to falsify the election. "They understand that the fair election will mean the end of their power."
"The real alternative is represented by Djamil Gasanli, a candidate of the opposition," Tofiq Tyurkel says. And he continues: "A big plus in favour of Djamil Gasanli is his support by two leading opposition parties - the 'Popular Front' and the 'Musavat' Party."
The analysts believe that the rest candidates have elusive chances.
"Perhaps, Iqbal Agazade, the leader of the 'Umid' (Hope) Party, can be distinguished among the other presidential candidates. With relatively honest counting of votes, he can take the third place," Shakhin Abbasov has noted.
