Chechnya: special operation fails to find persons involved in terror act in Sernovodsk
The operation to search for members of the armed underground, which is carried out in the Sunzha District of Chechnya starting from September 16, has not yet succeeded. This was reported by a representative of the Chechen Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA).
Let us remind you that on September 16, in Chechnya, a suicide bomber blew himself up near the building of the Sunzha ROVD (District Interior Division) in the village of Sernovodsk. As a result, three policemen were killed and four others were wounded. On the same day, in the territory of the Sunzha District, a counterterrorist operation (CTO) regime was introduced, and law enforcers started a special operation to search for militants.
"The search for members of criminal groupings in the Sunzha District of our republic has not yet succeeded. They are likely to hide in the neighbouring territories," said the representative of the Chechen MIA in his interview to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
Officials from the Chechen MIA also reported that Uni Suleimanov, a Chechen policeman, who was killed as a result of suicide bombing, was posthumously awarded the highest Chechen honour the Kadyrov's Order. Leonid Puchkov and Alexander Yegorov, Chuvash policemen, who perished together with Uni Suleimanov, were awarded medals "Defender of the ChechenRepublic."
Family members of each perished MIA's staff member will be paid one million roubles, and four wounded policemen were already paid 500,000 roubles as material assistance.
