Ex-policeman Pavlyuchenkov testifies against other figurants in Politkovskaya's murder case
A former policeman Dmitry Pavlyuchenkov, already sentenced to 11 years in prison for organizing the murder of the observer of the "Novaya Gazeta" Anna Politkovskaya, has revealed today, during his interrogation at the Moscow City Court (MCC), the roles of other defendants in organizing the murder.
Let us remind you that five persons are accused of the murder of Anna Politkovskaya, a journalist who wrote about Chechnya and Northern Caucasus, committed on October 7, 2006, namely: a Chechen businessman Lom-Ali Gaitukaev, his three nephews named Djabrail, Ibragim and Rustam Makhmudov and a former policeman Sergey Khadjikurbanov. All of them refuse to plead guilty.
Dmitry Pavlyuchenkov said at today's court session that "Nail, Gaitukaev and Khadjikurbanov were involved in killing the journalist." According to his version, Gaitukaev and Khadjikurbanov were the organizers, while Rustam Makhmudov was the gunman.
The questioning of Dmitry Pavlyuchenkov is not over it will be continued by the parties in the trial.
