In Georgia, pupils of two schools evacuated because of false bomb report
After a report that a bomb was planted in one of the two secondary schools located in the villages of Dvabzu and Gagma Dvabzu of the Ozurgeti District of Georgia, all students, teachers and other staff members were evacuated from educational institutions. The verification revealed that the anonymous information was false.
On September 18, the report on explosive devices was received by the operational centre for emergencies "112" of the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA).
"The educational process has been terminated at both schools, since an author of an anonymous call did not specify at which school the bomb was planted," the Georgian MIA reports.
Law enforcers did not find any explosive device in both schools.
According to the MIA's information, during the past week, the centre "112" received about 15 false reports about bombs planted in buildings. The most calls were made by minors.
The Parliament of Georgia has initiated the legislative initiative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) toughening the law on penalty for false calls about explosive devices.
