Samoshina: participants of September 17 rally in Volgograd are charged with administrative offense

In Volgograd, the participants of the action organized by local Communists on September 17 with a demand to cancel the results of the elections to the City Duma, are accused of breaking the rules of holding rallies, Elena Samoshina, one of the participants, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

"A policeman called me and said that I must appear at Police Station No. 4 of Volgograd. I said that I can't come, because I have no money. Then, they sent a car to pick me up. At the police station, I was given to read the statement by the head of Volgograd Guseva, which she submitted to the Prosecutor's Office. It said that at the rally on September 17, its participants called to mass riots, overthrow of the political system, and expressed disrespect of the Mayor and Governor. The statement was accompanied by 16 videos clips posted on the Internet," said Elena Samoshina.

Elena Samoshina said that she is accused under Article 20.2, point 5 (violation of the established order of organizing or holding an assembly, rally, demonstration, march or pickets) of the Russian Administrative Code. "The article assumes two types of punishment – a fine or imprisonment for up to 15 days," she explained. "I am a mother of many children, I have four minor kids; and I'm not going to pay fine to the state – if they award a fine, I'll ask them to arrest me in the courtroom."
