Attackers on policeman in Makhachkala made over 20 shots
According to the preliminary information, the attack on an operating executive of the Centre for Combating Extremism of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Dagestan involved two persons. Investigators believe the attack was connected with the professional activities of the perished person.
The incident, in which a policeman was wounded, occurred on September 19 at Amet-Khan Sultan Avenue in Makhachkala. According to the investigators' preliminary data, Arif Magamadov, 27-year-old Police Lieutenant, was shot by two persons.
The policeman died in hospital from gunshot wounds in different parts of his body.
26 shells and 5 bullets of 9 mm calibre were seized from the place of the incident. This was reported by the website of the Dagestani MIA.
The attackers opened fire from two pistols. This was reported by a source from the regional Investigating Department of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF).
"According to the basic version, the attack had to do with the professional activities of Arif Magamadov," the "Interfax" quotes the source as saying.
