Chechnya dismisses its ICRF Department head

Major General of Justice Sergey Bobrov, the Head of the Investigating Department of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) for Chechnya, has been dismissed from his position. The appropriate decree was signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Kremlin press service reports.

The presidential decree said nothing about the reasons for the dismissal of Sergey Bobrov from the Investigating Department of the ICRF for Chechnya.

In May 2013, Sergey Bobrov was appointed the Head of the Investigating Department of the ICRF for Chechnya; however, in November, he filed a letter for resignation, followed by dismissal. In an informal conversation, staff members of the Chechen Department of ICRF state that Sergey Bobrov left the ICRF for family reasons that were not directly related to the work. Meanwhile, the staff members of the ICRF suggest that Major General of Justice resigned, since he failed to find a common language with the local power agencies and officials, the "Kommersant" reports with reference to its sources.

Ramzan Simbagaev, Deputy Minister and the Head of the Investigating Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Chechnya, claims to occupy the position of Sergey Bobrov who was dismissed. However, the "Kommersant" suggests that he will lead the ICRF Department only after the investigating divisions of the ICRF and the MIA are merged.
