Dagestan: Abdula Abduraev, brother of Imam of Kharachi village mosque detained, local residents report
On December 11, Abdula Abduraev, a villager of Kharachi, Untsukul District of Dagestan, was detained at the entrance to the village of Khalimbekaul, Buynask District of Dagestan, and taken away to some unknown place, his relatives report. The police have not confirmed his detention.
The "Caucasian Knot" wrote that the village of Kharachi was blocked by power agents on November 15-19. On November 16, law enforcers detained 15 people; later, on the same day, 10 of them were released without charging; and on November 19, the remaining five were arrested for two months on suspicion of using violence against officials.
One of the relatives told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that Abdula Abduraev had never been wanted or prosecuted for any violations. "He is married and has three children. He is working," said the source.
The lawyer Nurmagomed Magomedov, who is representing the interests of the arrested Imam, a local teacher and the head of the village, said that "Abdula is a brother of Adam Abduraev, the Imam of the Kharachi village mosque."
According to the lawyer, the detained Abdula Abduraev was taken to the Untsukul ROVD (District Interior Division), located in the village of Shamilkala.
