Trial on recognizing "Women of the Don" Union as foreign agent postponed
In the city of Novocherkassk, Rostov Region, a court hearing on the recognition of the "Women of the Don" Union to be a foreign agent, scheduled for today, has been rescheduled for December 11 due to new claims lodged by the Prosecutor's Office, said Valentina Cherevatenko, the Union leader.
"Today, the Office has moved a new petition on specifying their claims, which are currently studied by my lawyers and myself; therefore, the session was postponed," said Valentina.
Let us remind you that that in March 2013 the Rostov Prosecutor's Office launched a check of the regional NGOs. On October 31, the Novocherkassk City Court began considering the lawsuit submitted by the City Prosecutor's Office on recognizing the "Women of the Don" Union as a foreign agent (according to the Law "On Non-Profit Organizations", all the NGOs engaged in "political activities" and financed from abroad shall get registered as "foreign agents", – note of the "Caucasian Knot").
