Krasnodar Territory: Professor Savva is not allowed to communicate with his daughter and grandson during his home arrest
Professor Mikhail Savva, accused of embezzling 360,000 roubles during holding researches under the grant money, will be kept under home arrest until February 3. He is forbidden to leave the apartment and communicate with his daughter and grandson, said his wife.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Professor Mikhail Savva, detained on April 12, rejects allegations of a theft and receiving payment for fictitious classes taught at the university. After detention, he was in custody, but on December 4, he was transferred to home arrest.
Savva has been appointed maximum restrictions, said his wife Elena. According to her story, he cannot even leave the apartment for a walk and use any means of communication; he can only communicate with his wife and the lawyer.
Elena Savva said that Professor's defence intends to appeal against the court's decision, because it violates the rights of her daughter and grandson to use their living area, the "Live Kuban" writes.
The decision to replace his custody for home arrest was made by the court following a complaint lodged by Russian Ombudsman Vladimir Lukin, the RIA "Novosti" reports.
