In Dagestan, about 40 mosque-goers are brought to police station
On Friday, in the village of Vremenny, located near the village of Gimry of the Untsukul District of Dagestan, about forty believers were arrested during the Friday prayer at the mosque and brought to the Buynaksk OVD (Interior Division). This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by a local resident.
According to witnesses, the imam of the mosque was also detained with other believers. According to them, the operation was led by the Chief of the Police of the Untsukul District.
Officials from the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) for Dagestan confirmed the information that the Gimry residents were brought to the Buynaksk OVD. "They were brought there for identification. After they are identified, they are released and are free to go home," said an official from the press service. He has not specified the number of detainees.
