At rally in Yerevan, veterans of Nagorno-Karabakh War demand to change power in Armenia
In Yerevan, the rally of veterans of the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh was attended by about 200 persons. Participants of the action have claimed the need for the resignation of the president and the government of the country, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.
With each passing day, the Armenian population declines, and demographic losses of peacetime are comparable or exceed the losses from wars and conflicts. This was stated by Vardan Malkhasyan, a war veteran, who delivered his speech at the rally. He has placed the responsibility for the situation to the country's authorities. The veteran has summarized that President Serzh Sargsyan should resign till the end of January.
Veteran Suren Khachatryan has stated that Serzh Sargsyan should dissolve the parliament, reveal officials, who illegally grown rich, release Shant Arutyunyan, stop the illegal activities of the mining industry and resign.
The veteran has added that in February 2014, veterans will hold a big rally, at which they will accept resignation of top-ranking officials.
The Armenian National Congress (ANC) support veterans. This was stated by Samvel Abraamyan, a member of the ANC.
"Already in February, all regional structures will be ready, and we will declare at the rally that we give power to the people," veteran Lernik Maadjyan told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent. The veteran has added that such parties as the "Prosperous Armenia", "Heritage", ANC, "Aik", and a number of other parties take part in the discussions.
