Dagestani resident accuses power agents of coercion to give DNA assay
Magomed Maitiev, a resident of Makhachkala, reports that in the Kirov ROVD (District Interior Division) he was forced to give a DNA assay against his will; and now he is forced to sign documents on the criminal case of policeman's murder, to which, according to his story, he has no relation.
The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed by Aisha Selimkhanova, a human rights activist, that today she was addressed by Magomed Maitiev, who said that he was forced to give his DNA assay at the Kirov ROVD. "The procedure is exclusively voluntary," said Selimkhanova.
The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent managed to reach Maitiev on telephone. He confirmed that he was at the ROVD and already gave his DNA assay: "I gave the assay; and now they keep me here saying that they want to show me some papers."
He fears that policemen want to get him in wrong. "I'm already registered at the police as a Salafi and as a person suspected of involvement in an illegal armed formation (IAF), although I had been acquitted earlier by the court on this article," said Maitiev.
