Demerchyan's advocate challenges appointed examination
Today, the advocate of Mardiros Demerchyan filed an appeal to the Adler Court against the handwriting examination appointed by the court, said a source from the court.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on February 4, the court in Sochi that tries the case of the builder Mardiros Demerchyan, accused of slandering police in his allegations of torture, listened to doctor Olga Krymova, a witness of the prosecution, who said that she had not signed the interrogation protocol, presented at the session.
On February 25, the court appointed a handwriting examination, but the advocates decided to appeal against it.
According to Alexander Boichenko, one of Demerchyan's advocates, the court violated the defence's right to ask questions to the witness; therefore, they challenged the appointment.
"We can assume that the protocol was signed by the investigator instead of Krymova. In this case, they need to examine his handwriting either, otherwise it can lead to an unjust verdict in the future," Alexander Boichenko told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
