Twenty Ukraine citizens ask for temporary shelter in North Ossetia
20 Ukrainian citizens came to North Ossetia and applied to the local branch of the Federal Migration Service for a temporary shelter, said Murat Tkhostov, the head of the branch.
According to his story, the people came from different parts of Ukraine: Nikolaevsk, Lugansk, Crimea, Donetsk, Odessa, Kharkov and Zaporozhye. They are 17 adults and three children.
"We have accepted nine motions for temporary asylum. It means that they want to stay in the territory of the Russian Federation not for the term allowed as to citizens of Ukraine – generally, for three months, but longer – until a threat to their lives persists in their homeland," said Mr Tkhostov.
So far, none has applied for obtaining Russian citizenship, he added.
