Actions in support of Evgeny Vitishko held in some Russian cities
On March 6 and 7, actions in support of Evgeny Vitishko, an activist of the "Ecological Watch for Northern Caucasus", convicted under the case of "Tkachov's summer cottage", were held in Sochi, Tula, Samara, Vladimir and Sosnovy Bor in the Leningrad Region.
On March 6, a solo picket in support of Vitishko in Tula was held by Ekaterina, an activist of the Tula branch of the Environmental NGO "ECA". She stated that she found the punishment appointed to the ecologist for damaging the fence too severe, the "Tulskie Novosti" has reported.
On the same day, in Sosnovy Bor, Leningrad Region, a series of solo pickets was held by activists of the local branch of the "Yabloko" Party.
On March 6 and 7, pickets in support of Vitishko were held in Vladimir by Anton Gromov, the leader of the nature protection community "Point of Growth". He stood in Theatre Square with a poster "Cottage by the sea is above human rights? No! Freedom to ecologist Evgeny Vitishko!"
On March 7, a series of solo pickets were held in Samara by five activists of the "Samara Green League".
In Sochi, on the opening day of the Paralympic Games, a charity rock concert "Grass near Home" took place in the art-cafe "Wooden Joe"; it was also dedicated to Evgeny Vitishko's case, a message posted in the social network "VKontakte" reports.
