Lali Antiya, leader of NGO "Women for Peace", detained in Georgia

Lali Antiya, the leader of the Georgian NGO "Women for Peace", has been detained by the decision of the court. This was reported by an official from the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA).

According to him, in 2006, Antiya was detained on charges of forging passports. She spent six years in prison for that crime.

In the summer of 2012, she was released from the penitentiary institution because of sharp deterioration of her health. Lali Antiya was to serve three more years of her sentence.

The court has appealed to law enforcement agencies with a request to return Lali Antiya to the penitentiary institution, the "Tbilisi Week" reports.

The NGO leader was transferred to the building of the regional police in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti. According to the law enforcers, Lali Antiya was detained for failure to fulfil her obligations in connection with her suspended sentence, the "Georgia-Online" reports.
