In Grozny, exhibition about Syria to help youth realizing horror of war, visitors believe
In Grozny, the exhibition of photographers from Ufa called "Material evidence. Syria" about the acts of war in the territory of Syria will last till March 17. Visitors of the exhibition say it can affect young people who sympathize with rebels and fail to understand what war really is.
The exhibition was opened on March 7 in the territory of the memorial complex "Alley of Glory". It presents about 60 works of Aibulat Akbutin and Khalit Safin, the photographers from Ufa, who spent two weeks in Syria and witnessed the acts of war.
In addition to the photos of the destroyed buildings, checkpoints, soldiers, and civilians, the exhibition also presents a variety of exhibits brought from this country and related to the war.
"Those exhibits include a car body riddled with shrapnel, a dummy used by snipers as bait for enemy, a prayer mat and a broken piece of glass from the destroyed temple. Hundreds of people have already visited the exhibition over the weekend," a source says.
The photo exhibition "Material evidence. Syria" is of great importance in terms of its impact on young people. This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by Umar, the imam of a mosque in Grozny.
According to local residents, the photos of Syria remind what happened in the territory of Chechnya during the two military campaigns.
