Chechnya: head of Achkhoy-Martan administration suspected of abuse of power
Movsar Kuntalov, the administration head of the Achkhoy-Martan village of the Chechen Republic is suspected of illegal transfer of agricultural land into the category of residential land with subsequent delivery of the land to individuals, the republic's prosecutor's office reports.
A criminal case was opened against Kuntalov under Part 2, Article 286 of the Russian Criminal Code (abuse of office by the head of local administration).
"Kuntalov made illegal alienation of republic's property, which entails, in accordance with the law, criminal responsibility," a source from the Chechen Prosecutor's Office told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
According to his story, the criminal case was opened on March 3; and if Kuntalov's guilt is proved, he will face up to seven years of imprisonment.
