Prosecutors complete presenting evidence at trial in Anna Politkovskaya's murder case
On March 12, at the session of the Moscow City Court, prosecutors finish presenting evidence against the defendants accused in the murder of journalist Anna Politkovskaya.
The prosecutors have presented to jurors a printout of phone calls made by Anna Politkovskaya on August 9, 2006. On that day, the journalist was at the newspaper office. At the same time, the mobile phone number of Lom-Ali Gaitukaev was also recorded not far away from the edition office. Moreover, the prosecutors have noted that earlier, he also appeared in the area of the journalist's residence on August 1, 2, and 3.
Besides, on March 12, the prosecutors presented to the court the items confiscated from the car, from which, according to the investigators, car passengers conducted surveillance of Anna Politkovskaya. In particular, the prosecutors demonstrated several business cards, two photos of unidentified men, who were not identified by the defendants, and receipts for gasoline. Meanwhile, the prosecutors have acknowledged that no biological traces suitable for examination were found on the seized items, the "Novaya Gazeta" reports.
