Novosasitli natives, detained in Makhachkala, are suspected of involvement in Syrian war
Five natives of Dagestan, who were detained on March 9 at the Makhachkala Airport after they had returned from Egypt, are suspected of involvement in illegal armed formations (IAFs) in Syria. This was reported by a source in the Khasavyurt ROVD (District Interior Division).
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on March 9, at the "Uytash" Airport, law enforcers detained five were natives of the village of Novosasitli of the Khasavyurt District of Dagestan: Akhmed Maazov, Magomed Dengaev, Mikail Abdulkerimov, Akhmed Ismatulaev, and Akhmadula Abdusalaev.
Till present, the detainees have not been formally charged yet. This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by Rasul Maazov, a brother of detained Akhmed Maazov. He has also said that the advocates of the young people were not allowed visiting their clients until the third day after their detention.
"At present, we know that they are being checked for involvement in illegal formations in Syria. The advocates have already visited them, and now we know that they are not subjected to torture. However, immediately after their detention, the young men were tortured, when they were held in Makhachkala," Rasul Maazov states.
