Drivers of the OC "Sochi-2014" claim unpaid wages, rights defenders report
52 people, who worked as car drivers for the Organizing Committee (OC) "Sochi-2014" under contracts in January, did not receive their due wages, said three persons of this group. According to their version, the total debt for the work performed makes 1,170,000, the network "Migration and Law" reports.
According to their contracts, within ten days after signing Performance Acts, each driver was to receive 22,500 roubles. However, six weeks have elapsed, but no money arrived to their accounts so far, said the applicants.
On February 27, the drivers, citizens of Russia, wrote a collective application to the prosecutor's office, but, according to their version, no answer has arrived so far.
The drivers note that under their contracts, on March 19 they will have to abandon the hostel in Sochi; and they fear that their salary will not be paid before that date.
