The Chief Investigating Department of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) for the North-Caucasian Federal District (NCFD) has instituted a criminal case against citizens of Ukraine, members of the UNA-UNSO (Ukrainian National Assembly-Ukrainian People's Self-Defence), who are suspected of forming an armed grouping (a criminal gang) for the purpose of attacking citizens.
Defendants in the case are Igor Mazur, Valery Bobrovich, Dmitry Korchinskiy, Vladimir Mamalyga, Andrei and Oleg Tyagnibok, Dmitry Yarosh, and several other persons, still not identified by investigators. According to the investigators, the criminal gang leaders were Igor Mazur, Valery Bobrovich, Dmitry Korchinskiy, and others. The criminal gang also involved Tyagnibok brothers, Dmitry Yarosh, Vladimir Mamalyga, and other unidentified persons.
The above mentioned persons were involved in the organization of the criminal gang and combat activities against the federal forces on the Chechen militants' side in the period of 1994-1995. These data were obtained in the course of the investigation into the criminal case of armed clash of illegal armed formations (IAFs) led by Shamil Basaev and Khattab with soldiers of the 76th Pskov Airborne Division. This was reported by the ICRF.
It should be added that on March 1, the page of the Ukrainian movement "Right Sector" in the social network "VKontakte" published an appeal signed by Dmitry Yarosh, the leader of the "Right Sector" calling Dokku Umarov, the leader of the "Imarat Kavkaz", to fight against the Russian authorities. The appeal was removed on the same day. Artyom Skoropadskiy, the press secretary of the "Right Sector", has stated that the appeal appeared after the page had been hacked.
