Parents of poisoned children from Nizhny Cherek ask authorities to provide aid for further medical treatment
Parents of the children, who got poisoned by chlorine vapour in the village of Nizhny Cherek, ask for a meeting with Yuri Kokov, an interim head of Kabardino-Balkaria. At the meeting, they hope to discuss the issues of assistance for further medical treatment of the victims.
On February 21, at the secondary school of the village of Nizhny Cherek, pupils of 5-8th forms got poisoned. 76 children were hospitalized to the Nalchik children's hospital with a diagnosis of "chlorine vapour poisoning". On March 5, all of them were directed to receive medical treatment at Zheleznovodsk at the cost of the budget of Kabardino-Balkaria.
The parents want their children to get examined again after the return from the sanatorium and to continue to receive medical treatment. They also believe that their children should be given psychological help. The parents stated that at the meeting held at the school of the village of Nizhny Cherek on March 16, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.
According to the parents, their children have not yet recovered from poisoning. The vision of four children got deteriorated; in some cases, children suffer from convulsions and fainting; almost all children have got kidney pain; they feel head ache and dizziness, sore stomach and intestines.
