Police release activist of NGO "Free Zone" detained in Tbilisi (+video)
The police have released David Gogokhiya, an activist of the NGO "Free Zone", who was detained on March 16 in Tbilisi and brought to the police station after a clash between participants of the pro-Russian rally and participants of the rally in support of the territorial integrity of Ukraine. This was reported by the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
The rally under the slogan reading: "Crimea is Russia" was held by members of the Georgian NGO "Eurasian Choice". Members of the NGO "Free Zone", who supported the new government of Ukraine, were not far from them.
The members of the above NGOs clashed, and as a result, the rally was actually disrupted.
David Gogokhiya was detained during the incident. He was brought to the Interior Department of the Vake-Saburtali District. The policemen drew up a protocol on administrative violation and released him. Till present, the exact charge against the activist is unknown.
