Relatives of Chechen resident Askhab Murtazaliev report on his kidnapping (+video)
On February 28, Askhab Murtazaliev, a resident of the Cossack village of Grebenskaya of the Shelkovskoy District of Chechnya, was kidnapped. Since that time, his relatives cannot reveal his whereabouts. This was reported on March 17 by Sudan Murtazalieva, the mother of the kidnapped man.
According to Sudan Murtazalieva, the family members of Askhab Murtazaliev, born in 1979, learned about his kidnapping from eyewitnesses.
"Eyewitnesses told us that the house to where he went was visited by military men. They took him away with them," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed by Sudan Murtazalieva.
On March 1, the family members of the kidnapped man appealed to the district police department. However, they did not succeeded in obtaining information on the Askhab Murtazaliev's whereabouts. In early March, they sent a letter to Chechnya leader Ramzan Kadyrov, asking to investigate the situation; however, they received no reply.
Officials from the police department for the Shelkovskoy District of Chechnya told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that they knew nothing about the Askhab Murtazaliev's kidnapping.
The Chechen Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) also has no information about the detention or kidnapping of Askhab Murtazaliev. This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by a MIA's official.
