Resident of Volgograd Region killed in Simferopol
On March 18, in Simferopol, two persons were killed as a result of shooting in front of Ukrainian military unit. One of the victims was a resident of the Volgograd Region, who went to Crimea as a member of a Cossack volunteer squad. According to journalists, deceased Ruslan Kazakov took part in the military campaigns in Chechnya.
According to Natalia Poklonskaya, Prosecutor of the Crimea, two persons Ruslan Kazakov, a resident of the Volgograd Region, a Cossack of the Don Army, and a soldier of the Ukrainian military unit became the victims of the sniper's attack. Two other persons were wounded.
The authorities of the Volgograd Region have also confirmed that Ruslan Kazakov, a 33-year-old resident of the Volgograd Region, was killed in Simferopol. The official website of the Governor and the Government of the Volgograd Region states that Ruslan Kazakov went to Crimea by his own will as a volunteer, and in Simferopol, he served as a member of the local Cossack squad.
The deceased was a war veteran of the second Chechen campaign, and he was awarded the medal "For Courage". This was noted by Russian journalist Stanislav Stremidlovsky on the Facebook.
