Forensic expert and Zurab Zhvaniya's guard detained in Georgia
The Tbilisi City Court has ruled to place Levan Chachua and Mikhail Dzadzamiya into preventive custody.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on March 20 photos appeared on the Internet from the place of death of Zurab Zhvaniya and from the morgue, showing alleged traces of violence on his body. The opposition has railed against the fact that the materials that constitute the secrecy of investigation appeared on the Internet. The General Prosecutor's Office (GPO) of Georgia launched an investigation into the fact. On March 21, it became known that Mikhail Dzadzamiya, the former head of Zhvaniya's security shift, and Levan Chachua, a former employee of the National Forensic Bureau, were detained and accused of dereliction of duty.
"Since the investigation has called into question the validity of the examination report, it has become necessary to carry out a new examination in order to establish the real causes and circumstances of the death of Zurab Zhvaniya and Raul Yusupov," the "Echo of the Caucasus" quotes the GPO spokesman.
According to the GPO, Dzadzamiya's negligence led to the death of the Premiere, the "Georgia-Online" reports.
