Georgian Deputy Minister for Integration announces progress on humanitarian issues at Geneva talks

The 27th round of Geneva talks, which ended on March 26, resulted in agreement on humanitarian issues. This was reported by Ketevan Tsikhelashvili, Georgian Deputy Minister for Reintegration.

"Perhaps, we will reach some progress on humanitarian issues. And we will make life easier for schoolchildren, so that every time they leave Gali for Zugdidi to go to school, they are not arrested by Russian border guards. And we will make life easier also for people who need urgent medical care," Ketevan Tsikhelashvili has stated.

The Georgian delegation has also presented to the audience the photographs and video records of steel wire along the administrative border in the occupied territory. David Zalkaliani, Deputy Foreign Minister, the head of the Georgian delegation, has reported on cancellation of the special regime introduced on the border with Abkhazia in connection with the Olympic Games in Sochi.

In turn, Murat Djioev, Presidential Envoy to South Ossetia on post-conflict settlement, has stated that at Geneva talks, the Ossetian side has tabled "issues on security along the border."
