At UNGA session Georgia and Azerbaijan voted for keeping Crimea within Ukraine, Armenia voted nay

The positions of the countries of Southern Caucasus on the legitimacy of the Crimea's accession to Russia after the March 16 referendum were different. During the voting at the session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), Azerbaijan and Georgia supported the territorial integrity of Ukraine, while Armenia voted against the resolution on recognizing the Crimean referendum illegal.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the plenary session of the UNGA on the situation in Ukraine was held on March 27 to discuss the draft resolution calling on the member countries not to recognize the outcomes of the referendum held on March 16 on the Crimea's accession to Russia. The resolution was adopted by a majority vote: 100 countries supported it, 11 countries voted against and 58 delegations obtained, the "Observer" has reported.

Let us remind you that that the resolution on non-recognition of the referendum was drafted by the UN Security Council, but Russia then vetoed. Its Foreign Ministry also noted that some countries were pressured to vote for adoption of the document.
