Movie "Noah" is screened freely in Makhachkala

The movie "Noah", which was condemned and boycotted by the Imam of the Central Mosque in Makhachkala, is freely screened in city cinemas; however, in some of them, there is a warning near the cashiers that the movie is not recommended for watching, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Mukhammadrasul-Hajji Saaduev, the Imam of the Central Mosque of Makhachkala, urged his parishioners not to watch the "Noah" by the Hollywood director Darren Aronofsky. According to the Imam, the movie is contrary to Islam.

The opinions of local residents about whether Muslims should watch the "Noah" have diverged.

Murad Muradov, a resident of the Dagestani capital, said he would not go to watch this movie.

"I think all Muslims should follow the advice of the Imam and not to fill in the purse of the filmmakers who made this scandalous movie about the prophet," he said.

Zarema Rustamova from the city of Kaspiysk told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that she would go to watch the movie with her friends.

"Yes, I know that Muslims are not advised to watch the movie. I don't find myself to be much of a believer, but I think that every person has the right to choose where to go and what to do. By the way, I was pleased by the fact that the film was not banned in the republic. There are recommendations to Muslims, but people are free to follow them or not. It's quite democratic, in my opinion," said Zarema.
