Experts are not surprised by inclusion of Ramzan Kadyrov into Presidium of Russian State Council

The Vladimir Putin's decision to include Ramzan Kadyrov into the Presidium of the Russian State Council was expected. This opinion was expressed by Professor Alexei Malashenko from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) and political analyst Dmitry Oreshkin. However, the experts associate the President's decision on Ramzan Kadyrov with his position regarding the Crimea.

On April 9, Russian President signed the decree to change the composition of the Russian State Council.

Alexei Malashenko believes that like earlier, the federal authorities will grant the leader of Chechnya special trust, and he "will get money". According to the expert, the rest of governors and leader of the republics will not be "envious" with regard to Ramzan Kadyrov, since the leader of Chechnya has a "special status".

However, according to the expert, the situation hides "a lot of pitfalls."

"If we consider the situation in the Crimea, we are talking about the Crimea as of a Muslim (region). On the one hand, it is good for Ramzan Kadyrov. On the other, he comes to the surface as a man absolutely loyal to the Russian authorities. So far, Crimean Tatars have not yet accepted the power of the Russian authorities, and tensions can lead to radicalization of Islam. We can remind you that Chechen militants received medical treatment under the patronage of the Crimean Tatars," Alexei Malashenko has said.

Political analyst Dmitry Oreshkin has also noted that the inclusion of Ramzan Kadyrov into the Presidium of the Russian State Council "will change nothing in Chechnya, if Russia does not run out of money."
