Sergey Khadjikurbanov, figurant in Politkovskaya's murder case, states he fell victim to slander
At the trial held at the Moscow City Court on the murder of Anna Politkovskaya, Sergey Khadjikurbanov a former employee of the RUBOP (Department to Combat Organized Crime), said that he had been slandered by Dmitry Pavlyuchenkov, a former lieutenant colonel, already convicted on this case.
During the today's session, Khadjikurbanov said that he had never discussed the surveillance of the journalist and her subsequent murder with anyone.
Let us remind you that the above Dmitry Pavlyuchenkov was detained on suspicion of involvement of Politkovskay's murder on August 23, 2011. He concluded a deal with investigators, and then ceased to be regarded the organizer of the crime – under the new investigators' version, he organized the surveillance of the journalist and purchased a pistol for the murder. Pavlyuchenkov was sentenced to 11 years in prison.
As stated by Khadjikurbanov at the trial, Pavlyuchenkov slandered him because of their bad mutual relations. "He's slandering me. It has to do with some debts," the ITAR-TASS quotes the ex-employee of the RUBOP as saying.
