Ingush Ombudsman: two detainees from Maiskoe are kept in Vladikavkaz SIZO

Aliskhan Gurazhev and Mustafa Barkinkhoev, residents of the village of Maiskoe of North Ossetia, accused of possession of drugs, are kept in the SIZO (pre-trial prison) No. 1 of Vladikavkaz, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told at the office of the Ombudsman for the Republic of Ingushetia.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 10 and 11, relatives of the detainees twice blocked the federal highway "Kavkaz", demanding their release. They claim the criminal case against Aliskhan Gurazhev and Mustafa Barkinkhoev was fabricated.

The Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial" and the Ombudsman for the Republic of Ingushetia have joined to clarify the situation with the criminal prosecution against the residents of the village of Maiskoe.

Staff members of the Ingush Ombudsman have reported that they became aware of the whereabouts of Aliskhan Gurazhev and Mustafa Barkinkhoev: "According to our information, they are kept in the SIZO No. 1 of Vladikavkaz. In accordance with the order of Yunus-Bek Evkurov, the leader of the republic, the detainees were provided gratis advocates who entered the case."
