In North Ossetia, advocates are not allowed to visit in SIZO detained residents of Maiskoe, detainees' relatives assert
In North Ossetia, investigators do not allow advocates to visit Aliskhan Gurazhev and Mustafa Barkinkhoev, residents of the village of Maiskoe of the Prigorodny District, detained on charges of possession of drugs. This was reported by relatives of the detainees.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Aliskhan Gurazhev and Mustafa Barkinkhoev were detained on April 10. On that and the other days, the detainees' relatives and villagers of Maiskoe twice blocked the federal highway "Kavkaz", demanding to release the detainees.
The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by a brother of one of the detainees that the investigators avoid meeting advocates of Aliskhan Gurazhev and Mustafa Barkinkhoev, who cannot examine the materials of charges and enter the case.
Let us remind you that earlier, on April 13, the detainees' relatives claimed the criminal case against Aliskhan Gurazhev and Mustafa Barkinkhoev had been fabricated.
The situation is typical for North Caucasus, since law enforcers themselves provide an excuse for such statements when they retreat from the procedural rules to be fulfilled in accordance with the letter of the law. This opinion was expressed by Tamerlan Akiev, the leader of the Ingush office of the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial".
