Residents of Nagorno-Karabakh, Georgia and Kabardino-Balkaria become laureates of "Young Women in Caucasus" Award

At the conference "Caucasus is our common home", the awards in the category "Young Women in Caucasus" were granted to Anait Danielyan, an editor of the Internet newspaper "KarabakhOpen.info" (Nagorno-Karabakh), Megi Bibiluri, the head of the NGO "Friendship Bridge Kartlosi" (Georgia), and Irina Kishukova, Director of the Charitable Foundation "Razvitie" (Development) (Kabardino-Balkarian Republic).

According to Gyulnara Shaginyan, an organizer of the event, the Board member of the NGO "Democracy Today" and the UN Special Rapporteur on Slavery, the peace award is being granted for the third time already, and nine women have become the laureates. Last year, the awards were granted to residents of Armenia, Dagestan, Azerbaijan, the Stavropol Territory and Chechnya.

The award is granted for women's outstanding activities in the field of human rights and peace protection. The organizers of the conference have noted that the award was inspired by peacekeeping activities of Anait Bayandour, a well-known Armenian human rights activist.
