Makhachkala authorities had no right to cancel rally in support of Said Amirov, rally participants assert

The ban to hold a rally in Makhachkala in support of Said Amirov was unjustified, and law enforcers provoked participants of the rally. This was stated by participants of the press conference held in Makhachkala.

The conference was held on April 16 in the cinema "Russia".

When opening the press conference, Magomed Gasanov, a deputy of the National Assembly of Dagestan, who was among the detained participants of the rally, has stated that the Makhachkala authorities unreasonably withdrew the sanction issued for the rally.

Magomed Gasanov believes that the formula of "unsanctioned rally" is incorrect, since no sanction or permission is required to hold an action. According to the law on rallies, such an action requires only a notification, and law enforcement agencies should secure an order when similar actions are held.

According to Magomed Gasanov, the law enforcers unlawfully used force against the participants of the rally.
