In Dagestan, detained mosque-goers from Shamkhal released, locals report

Today in Dagestan, the parishioners of the Salafi mosque located in the village of Shamkhal, an outskirt of Makhachkala, detained during a police raid have been set free, said a local resident.

The report about detention of several parishioners of the Salafi mosque and taking them to the police station of the village has arrived this afternoon.

According to the above local source, there were from 30 to 40 detainees. "They are all parishioners of this mosque. They were detained in the course of today's police action and held at the station for about two hours," he said, adding that all the detainees were "fingerprinted by force."

Ziyautdin Uvaisov, the Chairman of the Bar Association "Tradition", told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that there were no grounds to detain the village parishioners.
