Moscow MIA: native of Northern Caucasus opens fire in metro on four Belarusians

At night of April 22, in a Moscow metro train, a native of Northern Caucasus opened fire from a traumatic pistol on four citizens of Belarus. This was reported by the press service of the Chief Department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) for Moscow. As a result of the incident, one of the Belarusian citizens was heavily wounded in his head.

The quarrel between the Caucasian and guests from Belarus occurred at Sokolniki line of the Moscow metro.

"At about 1:00 a.m., in a train en route from the station 'Park Kultury' toward the station 'Kropotkinskaya', a conflict occurred between four citizens of Belarus and a 27-year-old native of one of the republics of the North-Caucasian Federal District (NCFD). During the quarrel, the NCFD native fired several shots from the traumatic pistol on Belarusians," the "Interfax" quotes an official from the MIA's press service as saying.

As a result of the incident, a 25-year-old resident of the city of Kobrin was hospitalized in a state of coma with a gunshot wound to his head. One more Belarusian citizen got an abrasion. He was provided with medical assistance; and after that he was set free.

The gunman was detained by Moscow policemen. A criminal case was instituted against him under Article 111 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (causing grievous bodily harm).

According to the "Interfax", the MIA source said that the gunman is a native of the Achkhoy-Martan District of Chechnya.
