In Kuschevskaya, court pronounces verdict in case of organized criminal grouping
The Kuschevskaya District Court found four local residents, members of an organized criminal grouping, guilty of serious crimes. They were sentenced to 7-14 years of imprisonment.
According to the Prosecutor's Office of the Krasnodar Territory, the verdict was pronounced to Guram Kakashvili, Aikaz Arakelov, Denis Pelogeichik, and Denis Vasileiko. The Court has found that during several years, they committed acts of robbery with use of weapon in order to seize property in the territory of Krasnodar and the Kuschevskaya District of the Krasnodar Territory.
The Cossack village of Kuschevskaya became notorious after at night of November 5, 2010, 12 persons were massacred in the Cossack village. The blame for the massacre was laid on members of the criminal grouping led by Sergey Tsapok, which, according to investigators, operated in the Krasnodar Territory for several years. During the investigation into the massacre, law enforcers reported that several other criminal groupings were revealed.
On November 19, 2013, Sergey Tsapok and two other figurants of the criminal case of massacre and a series of other crimes were sentenced by the Krasnodar Regional Court to life imprisonment.
