Casualties of shootout with power agents in Stavropol Territory were residents of Dagestan, investigators report

The persons killed in an armed clash with policemen in the Stepnovsk District (with the administrative centre in the village of Stepnoe) of the Stavropol Territory have been identified as residents of Makhachkala, as reported by investigating authorities.

Let us remind you that the shootout in the Stavropol Territory occurred in a wooded area on April 28. As a result, two persons were killed and another one managed to escape. Also, a SWAT fighter was contused in the fight. On April 29, a source from the Lenin ROVD of Makhachkala said that one of the casualties was identified as Nizam Asaliev, a resident of Dagestan. His relatives had reported earlier that Asaliev disappeared on April 26.

On Wednesday, April 30, investigators reported that the casualties had been identified as residents of Makhachkala. One of them had criminal record for preparing to commit a terror act and assault on law enforcers, but was acquitted by the court verdict. This was reported on the website of the Investigating Department for the Stavropol Territory of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF).

The case is being investigated under the articles of "attempt on the life of a law enforcer", "illegal arms circulation" and "illegal manufacture of weapons" of the Russian Criminal Code.
