KChR resident challenges experts' decision on his Category III disability

Bureau No. 2 of the Chief Department of Medico-Social Examination of the Karachay-Cherkessian Republic (KChR) has appointed disability Category III to Muradin Alshunov, a resident of the aul Erkin-Yurt of the Nogai District, who became disabled after being beaten up in September 2012. Alshunov has appealed against the experts' decision, claiming that hr should be awarded Category II. An examination of his health condition on his complaint is scheduled for May 12, said the applicant.

For the first time Alshunov was awarded his Category III on March 11, 2013. The experts' opinion said that any hard physical labour is contraindicated to Alshunov, but he can perform some light administrative-economic activities.

A Category III invalid is recognized capable for work, notes Alshunov. "But under the conclusion of the Republic's Hospital of the KChR, my ability to work has been lost; and no recovery is expected. I have memory lapses and dizziness; and I can't do any physical or mental labour, although before the injury I worked day and night," Muradin Alshunov explained the situation to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent, adding that he takes care about his minor son.
