Wife of Azerbaijani journalist Rauf Mirkadyrov reports about search in their apartment

In the afternoon of May 4, the Turkish secret services conducted a search in the apartment in Ankara, where the family members of Rauf Mirkadyrov, an arrested Azerbaijani journalist, reside. This was reported by Adelya Babakhanova, Rauf Mirkadyrov's wife.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 18, journalist Rauf Mirkadyrov was detained in Ankara. On the next day, he had been deported to Baku, where the court pronounced the decision to arrest him for three months. On April 25, the Court of Appeal refused to change the pre-trial restriction measure to Rauf Mirkadyrov. At present, the journalist is being held in the SIZO (pre-trial prison) on suspicion of treason. Colleagues of Rauf Mirkadirov associate his arrest with his professional activities.

According to Adelya Babakhanova, 11 persons entered the apartment and told her that the search was conducted in accordance with the request of the Azerbaijani authorities.

According to the journalist's wife, during the search, the agents of the Turkish secret services confiscated a number of documents and electronic gadgets containing information, including a tablet belonging to Rauf Mirkadyrov's daughter.
