Chechnya: prior to his death, victim of grenade explosion fought with policemen, local residents assert

Prior to his death, the resident of Ingushetia, who threw a grenade at policemen in the Chechen Cossack village of Pervomaiskaya, entered a conflict and a fight with policemen. This was reported by local residents. According to their version, the body of the deceased man was given out to his relatives.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on May 2, the Chechen Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) reported that during a check of his documents, the resident of Ingushetia rendered resistance to the policemen and threw a grenade at them. He was wounded by the explosion of his grenade and soon died.

Local residents confirm that the victim himself threw a grenade at the policemen. Meanwhile, according to eyewitnesses, this act was preceded by a serious conflict between the man and the policemen.

According to one of the eyewitnesses, a foreign-made car with the policemen was parked in the street, and the drunken man who passed by the car hit the car bonnet with his fist.

"Then, the policemen jumped out of the car and began beating him. After that, they got into their car and drove off, while the man ran home and picked up a grenade. Then, he rushed out and wanted to throw it after the police car; however, the grenade exploded right under his feet," the eyewitness said.
