NAC: terror acts prevented in Dagestan on May Day holidays

The Russian National Antiterrorism Committee (NAC) has stated that terror acts were prevented in Dagestan during the May Day holidays, namely, during the last two days, operative actions resulted in detection of two hideouts with improvised explosive devices (IEDs).

The first hideout was found in the basement of a private house in the village of Novy Agachaul in the Karabudakhkent District. A 12-kilo bomb was found there.

The second one was found in the outskirt of Makhachkala, on the slope of Tarki-Tau Mount. It contained three IEDs stuffed with striking elements and the total power of 5 kilos of TNT (trotyl) equivalent, the RIA "Novosti" quotes the NAC's message.

Thee "Chernovik" weekly adds, referring to the NAC's release, that all the IEDs were liquidated in the places of detection.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 27 the NAC also stated prevention of terror acts in Dagestan, prepared for the May Day holidays. Then, in different parts of the city of Derbent five suspected members of illegal armed formations (IAFs) were killed.
