North Ossetia allocates 14.5 million roubles to purchase vehicles for persons with disabilities

This year, the authorities of North Ossetia plan to purchase ten special motor vehicles to transport persons with disabilities. The national budget is to allocate 14.5 million roubles for purchasing of new motor vehicles under the programme "Accessible Environment". The federal budget is to allocate the same amount. This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by the officials from the Ministry of Industry and Transport Policies.

In total, by the end of the year, 15 vehicles to transport persons with disabilities will operate in the republic.

"The programme is at the initial stage of its implementation, and the new vehicles will be used in Vladikavkaz. And we will have to work hard to cover the needs for such vehicles in both urban and rural areas," said Alan Djibilov, the head of the Ministry of Industry and Transport Policies.

Earlier, it has been reported that North Ossetia is to inspect the newly built residential houses, shopping centres and parking lots of vehicles to determine their accessibility for people with disabilities.
