ICRF completes criminal investigation into Yegor Scherbakov's murder

The Moscow Department of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) has reported on the completion of the investigation into the criminal case against Orkhan Zeinalov, an Azerbaijani citizen, accused of the murder of Yegor Scherbakov, a Moscow resident. In the nearest future, the case will be sent to the court.

The Moscow Department of the ICRF has accused Orkhan Zeinalov of committing a crime under Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (murder committed of hooliganism). This was reported by the message published on the ICRF's website.

According to investigators, on October 10, 2013, near the house No. 7 in Vostryakovsky Proezd in Moscow, being in a state of alcoholic intoxication, Orkhan Zeinalov attacked Yegor Scherbakov during the verbal altercation. The Azerbaijani citizen repeatedly hit the victim with his fists and then took out a pocketknife and stabbed the victim two times. One of the strokes reached the victim's heart, and as a result, Egor Scherbakov died at the place.

According to investigators, the results of the forensic examination disproved the version of the Orkhan Zeinalov's self-defence.

Let us remind you that the murder of Yegor Scherbakov, a resident of the Western Biryulyovo District of Moscow, resulted in protests that occurred in Moscow on October 13. Later, the protests grew into riots, and as a result, 380 people were detained.
