Dagestan: policemen refuse to admit advocate to arrested volunteers

In the city of Khasavyurt in Dagestan, the advocate is not allowed to meet his clients – Sadiyat Arslanova and Aisha Abakarova, volunteers of the Charity Fund "Be merciful", who had been arrested for three days for disobeying the police.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on May 7 Arslanova and Abakarova were taken to the police division of Khasavyurt from the bank building, where they get, according to their acquaintance to collect money from a credit card. The women spent the night in the isolation facility, after which on May 8 the court imposed administrative arrest for three days on them under Article 19.3 of the Code of Administrative Offences "Disobedience to lawful order of a policeman".

"The head of the police division told me that I wouldn't see them, and didn't allow making a medical examination. We have information that one of the women was hit there. I filed complaints to the prosecutor's offices of the city and the republic and to the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of the Republic and Dagestan," Musa Abdulkadirov, the lawyer who represents the interests of the arrested women, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
