Izberbash resident claims being forced to give her DNA assay
Zarema Magomedova, a resident of Dagestani city of Izberbash, claims that staff members of the local GOVD (City Interior Division) forced her to give biological samples to determine her DNA against her will. According to the woman, apart from her, at least 15 persons were invited to the police station.
Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in October 2013, Zarema Magomedova appealed to human rights defenders with a complaint about the actions of the GOVD staff members. According to the woman, the policemen had no warrant, but brought her to the GOVD to force her to testify about her sister Aisha, with whom Zarema had no contacts for a long time already and who, according to the operational services, was allegedly plotting a terror act. At that time, the police did not confirm the fact of Zarema Magomedova's detention.
According to Zarema Magomedova, six months after the first interrogations, the policemen again began to put pressure on her. The woman believes that the police actions may be associated with the case against her husband Murad Alibekov, who in December 2013 was found by the Supreme Court of Dagestan guilty in the murder of the head of the Pension Fund Office and the attempt on a policeman.
